"Back to the Origin" is an urban romance drama produced by Wang Rouxuan (Known for "I Will Find You a Better Home", "People's Property"), directed by Yu Xiaocheng (known for "Left Right"), and stars Ren Suxi ("There Will Be Ample Time", "Mr. Donkey") and Luo Jin ("Enforcement Department", "The Princess Wei Young") in the lead roles, with supporting roles from Myolie Wu ("Triumph in the Skies Season 2"), Liu Jia, Guo Keyu, and friendly appearances by Huang Xiaolei and Ming Dao. The story follows Zhang Ran (played by Ren Suxi), a former financial news anchor whose family has fallen into a slump. Unwilling to resign herself to an ordinary life doing overseas purchasing, she takes an offer from a domestic MCN company, dragging her husband (played by Ren Suxi) along. They embark on a strange journey of becoming “internet celebrities." Ironically, the husband, originally a renovation worker, snatches the spotlight first, becoming the mascot-CEO of a startup. The couple sets off on a playful, comedic “level-up” journey, navigating misunderstandings, success, and fame, and discovers love and their true selves along the way.
